Tom Wilson, one of the three Wilson Brothers of Wilson Brothers HVAC in Pepperell, feels very strongly about his company’s commitment to supporting local charities. So much so, in fact, that he has pledged to donate 5% of his company’s revenue for heating system tune-ups this winter to two local area Food Pantries.
Both the Devens Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry and the PACH Food Pantry (Pepperell Aid from Community to Home) are beneficiaries of this commitment.
In the past, Wilson Brothers HVAC has helped with the repair and preventative maintenance of the Devens Food Pantry heating system. Wilson Brothers has also assisted with the annual Post Office Food Drive collection of sacks of groceries to be donated to the Food Pantry. “We carted more than 80 boxes and filled the trucks – it was amazing!” exclaimed Tom. “We thought we were just going to deliver the donations, but it turned out to be fun! We got involved and met the Food Pantry staff and volunteers.”
“The Food Pantries are the recipients of generous donations around the holidays, but this time of year the shelves get to be a bit bare,” explained Tom Wilson. According to the Food Pantry Web sites, they are especially in need of the following items: canned meat, including tuna, ham, and chicken; cereal – any type of healthy, low sugar varieties; peanut butter and/or jelly; canned fruit; Shelf-ready, non-perishable milk; pasta and pasta sauce; spaghetti Os or ravioli; 100% juice; Ramon noodles; chicken noodle soup and personal care products, such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, and toothpaste; and disposable diapers, sizes 4 – 6.
Wilson hopes that the money donated from heating system tune-ups this winter will help fund other necessities.
“The PACH and the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry is a mission of love and faith to serve people of Pepperell, Ayer, Devens, Groton, Harvard, Littleton, and Shirley. This is just my way of giving back to the communities who have supported Wilson Brothers in the past,” said Wilson.
